Inflammation (here damage due to immune cells) of the Blood filtering units called Glomerulus is Glomerulonephritis.

Patient has bleeding in urine, which can be gross bleeding, passing of Cola -coloured urine, or microscopic bleeding. Patient will have proteinuria, loss of protein in urine. New onset hypertension, swelling of feet and facial swelling. Few patients may have skin rash, joint pain, fever.

Autoimmune Glomerulonephritis requires detailed pathology investigation and Kidney biopsy to determine the cause of the Glomerulonephritis.

Autoimmune kidney diseases diagnosed and treated early in the course of the illness can prevent longterm kidney damage and prevent future kidney failure and requirement of dialysis or kidney transplantation.
